Charles Le Losq
Passionate about Earth sciences, physic and chemistry of materials, and volcanoes, I study the physico-chemical properties of amorphous and crystalline materials to understand the history of the Earth. I have a particular interest to study the interactions between volatiles (water, carbone...) and silicate materials, because such interactions dramatically influence the state and transport of matter within the Earth.

UPCOMING EVENTS
MY RESEARCH
After our study with Celia Dalou (University of Minnesota) and Bjorn Mysen (Geophysical Lab) showing very important fractionation of H isotopes between silicate melts and aqueous fluids, we started working on the intramolecular fractionation of H isotopes in silicate melts with Bjorn Mysen and George Cody (Geophysical Laboratory). The result of this study was published recently in Geochemical Perspective Letters. Please check my blog post for further information!
Launch of Rampy
After developing Spectra.jl, I started working on a similar library in Python for helping in the treatment of Infrared, Raman or other spectroscopic data. Rampy is fully functional, can be installed through PyPi and has a nice score of more than 20 starts on Github. Please check this web page for more information:

Erebus lava lake
After the study of the viscosity of a lava involved in the lava lake at the Erebus (Antarctica) volcano, we studied the behavior of redox in this lava at the SOLEIL synchrotron! A new paper is out in Contributions in Mineralogy and Petrology.
We recently report on the environment of water in silicate melts in two papers in American Mineralogist, and in Progress in Earth and Planetary Sciences. Some pieces of information are available in the blog section! Have a look at it!
